'Tis true. Juan Diego is cancelling ALL performances of the LOC "Barbiere" because of a throat infection caused by his swallowing a fishbone. Doctor's say he can't sing until mid-March at the EARLIEST. Conflicts with "Fille"??? We'll see. The article says it's still scheduled, so we'll have to wait it out. John Osborn is scheduled to replace JDF.
ATTENTION WORLD: WE HAVE FOUND NEMO. JUAN DIEGO FLOREZ SWALLOWED HIM.

There is an update on his condition that can be found by following a link on Voce di Tenore. The story comes from EFE. It says he is now completely recovered (as of Feb. 18th) and aside from a recital in Parma in March will be spending his time arranging his house in Pesaro. I'd guess he'll be happier in Pesaro than he would have been in Chicago at this time of the year.
